TLS106 Linda Roush Pokolm – 4 Key Corners Bookkeeping

Linda was a friend I made at the Networking in Heels event. She was willing to help me out with my taxes in return for an interview. Yes sometime we need to barter in business. Yes I know I make a mistake as I pronounced one of my sponsors' name but it seems to work at getting your attention ;) Linda has an interesting experience as she is doing a business restart. This can be both a blessing and a course. I hope you will forgive my awkward intro as I still haven't been able to shake the nervousness after 106 episodes LOL. After watching the video you can check out more at www.4keycorners.com https://youtu.be/xg2VIdSw5wM

TLS105 Wenday van der Meer – House of Wenday

With 12 years experience in fashion retail, and 25 years experience in sewing and design, Wendy launched her own eco-fashion brand in January of  2012. It started as just an e-commerce, and has grown to a small storefront, boasting top quality, handmade clothing and accessories made in-house by Wendy herself. The focus is simple; putting and end to high priced, low quality, mass produced products that have negative impacts on our environment. https://youtu.be/oJ7MJuyZPfE

TLS103 See Horse – Tech for Horses

Like a FitBit for horses, SeeHorse wearable collects a horse’s vital signs and sends that information to a tablet, smart phone or other device, alerting owners, veterinarians or others when something is not quite right. SeeHorse can be worn on the horse at all times, allowing for 24/7 monitoring of the horse’s health, whereabouts and well-being. Is your horse moving around enough during turn out or is he standing at the hay pile all day? How is your horse handling the trailer ride to the show or a new barn? Is your conditioning program effective?

TLS102 YouTuber – MarkFreeman408

I was so excited to find out that Mark Freeman lived near London and when I saw he had over 200,000 subscribers on YouTube and I had to ask him for an interview. Mark was very open and authentic with me and shared all his insights about growing his YouTube channel. He posts many videos several times a week about his adventures in extreme sports like skydiving, motocross and ATV racing. He even reached his goal to attain an energy drink sponsor and signed a contract with sponsor RockStar Energy Canada. TLS099 Rod Gallagher – Gallagher Financial

OK so I have another Financial Advisor to interview on the show. As some of you may know, Kate Childerhose from Edward Jones has become a sponsor of the show, so I want to take this opportunity to give her some publicity too. Click here if you would like to see my interview with Kate. :D Choosing an advisor is a very personal choice so, in my opinion, you should choose someone you get along with very well. This is where personal branding is very important. Rod brings a great example of personal branding as he begins to talk about his hobbies. Finding someone with the same interests as you or background really benefits. Also having hobbies outside of your business open up a new type of networking and you have a better chance of closing a sale with someone in the same hobby. Find all about Rod's hobbies in our interview: https://youtu.be/R2hVgn97ohQ www.RodGallagher.ca

TLS098 Jean L. Price – The DIVA Coach

I have never met Jean before we recorded this episode so you get to know her the same time I do. Jean has a very attractive personality as you can see and I couldn't help but ask her to judge me on the spot. She hit the nail on the head about my element being Air. I am full of ideas, get bored easily and prefer to start new projects then to finish one. Which is why it was such a struggle for me to get through these 100 episodes. Phew! Jean helps you find out if you are Air, Water, Fire or Earth and then determines how you should dress in order to bring out your energy to the fullest. Her background is in Fashion Design and has watched many in the industry struggle to compete in our current global marketplace and advises to find a niche to help you stand out. TLS097 Nancy Kirwin – Townsend Mutual Insurance Company

I met Nancy through an accountability group I'm apart of that meets every other week to help one another focus and follow through with our goals. Even though we have only known each other a few weeks, I am very much inspired by her and already feel she is a good friend. She offers a great tool to help with the psychology of makes sales calls. SW, SW, SW, N Some Will, Some Won't, So What, Next. This can help every Entrepreneur move on after being rejected. It happens and the best thing you can do is ignore the feeling and move on to the next task or sale. I see so many business owners who are romantic about being an Entrepreneur but are not making any money because they are stuck in their fear of being rejected. Focus on the wins and disregard the losses. Think with your head and your feelings will follow. We also discuss whether or not you need to change your vehicle insurance policy when you add you business name or logo to your vehicle. This can be in any form such as decals, magnets or stickers. Find out what Nancy says at 1:24 Here is some more details about Nancy from her website: www.NancyKirwin.com Nancy is passionate about helping others and building relationships. It started as a young child when she was enthralled with the older gentleman (the insurance agent)

TLS093 Katy Takaoka – SBT Virtual

I was introduced to Katy when she shared her story at Momondays back in August. It was a powerful story and I encourage you all to read it for yourself on her website. I've followed her personal brand through social media since then and joined one of her insightful online webinars. She is a wealth of knowledge and shares quite a bit in our conversation. I agree wholeheartedly that you need an assistant to help your business grow. Here is what Katy says on her website: As an entrepreneur myself, I understand how we business owners tend to believe that we’re the only ones who can run our businesses the “right” way. But if we don’t ask for help, we run the risk of losing clients! There simply isn’t enough time in the day to answer phone calls, reply to emails, update Facebook, respond to blog comments, promote the business, attend networking events and still have time left to actually make money. If we don’t, we’ll only end up frustrated and burnt out, like I did. We owe it to ourselves to do only what we do best, and leave the rest to the experts. My own experiences have taught me there’s no shame in that. So now, I save entrepreneurs time by leveraging my talented support team to maximize their online presence and manage their business operations, empowering them to focus on revenue-generating activities like delivering their

TLS092 Maria Stoeckner – Tulip Fresh Clean

I met Maria in class during my time in the Ontario Self Employment Benefit Program and we've kept in touch ever since. I had the opportunity to create a website for Maria and hired her for housekeeping myself. She is very hard working and I would recommend her to everyone. One thing I forgot to cover in our interview was something that Maria and I have been discussing for quite some time. The struggle of charging a higher hourly rate. Now I understand the whole argument that you charge what the market can bare, but we have a new argument. Pay the amount needed so that your house cleaner wants to work hard, doesn't need to steal and does an exceptional job! There is no such thing as a good job for cheap, however many Londoners whine and complain of poor workmanship when they are not willing to pay for it. Next time you hear someone start to complain about poor service, ask them how much they paid before choosing sides. Otherwise you are tainting the 'word of mouth' advertising system. Time is the most valuable asset I have and it's worth every penny when I hire Maria and come home to a Fresh Clean house. I think of it as an investment. Less time spent cleaning means more time making sales! Tulip Fresh Clean can help you make more money. :D   https://youtu.be/T55qmt-gA8Y http://traffic.libsyn.com/londonpreneur/tulipfreshcleanedit.mp3

TLS090 Michael Balaban – Icon Home Inspections

Who doesn't love a Superhero. About halfway through our conversation you will get to hear more about Michael's fascination with Batman. I've seen several fan-obsessed posts come from Michael's Facebook profile which prompted my curiosity for an interview. So many London Entrepreneurs really do love what they do and so does Michael.
