Linda was a friend I made at the Networking in Heels event. She was willing to help me out with my taxes in return for an interview. Yes sometime we need to barter in business. Yes I know I make a mistake as I pronounced one of my sponsors’ name but it seems to work at getting your attention 😉
Linda has an interesting experience as she is doing a business restart. This can be both a blessing and a course. I hope you will forgive my awkward intro as I still haven’t been able to shake the nervousness after 106 episodes LOL.
With 12 years experience in fashion retail, and 25 years experience in sewing and design, Wendy launched her own eco-fashion brand in January of 2012. It started as just an e-commerce, and has grown to a small storefront, boasting top quality, handmade clothing and accessories made in-house by Wendy herself.
The focus is simple; putting and end to high priced, low quality, mass produced products that have negative impacts on our environment.

I was so excited to find out that Mark Freeman lived near London and when I saw he had over 200,000 subscribers on YouTube and I had to ask him for an interview. Mark was very open and authentic with me and shared all his insights about growing his YouTube channel. He posts many videos several times a week about his adventures in extreme sports like skydiving, motocross and ATV racing. He even reached his goal to attain an energy drink sponsor and signed a contract with sponsor RockStar Energy Canada. Be sure to check out our interview and become a subscriber to his channel at
Choosing an advisor is a very personal choice so, in my opinion, you should choose someone you get along with very well. This is where personal branding is very important. Rod brings a great example of personal branding as he begins to talk about his hobbies. Finding someone with the same interests as you or background really benefits. Also having hobbies outside of your business open up a new type of networking and you have a better chance of closing a sale with someone in the same hobby. Find all about Rod’s hobbies in our interview:
I have never met Jean before we recorded this episode so you get to know her the same time I do. Jean has a very attractive personality as you can see and I couldn’t help but ask her to judge me on the spot. She hit the nail on the head about my element being Air. I am full of ideas, get bored easily and prefer to start new projects then to finish one. Which is why it was such a struggle for me to get through these 100 episodes. Phew!
Jean helps you find out if you are Air, Water, Fire or Earth and then determines how you should dress in order to bring out your energy to the fullest. Her background is in Fashion Design and has watched many in the industry struggle to compete in our current global marketplace and advises to find a niche to help you stand out. This can help every Entrepreneur move on after being rejected. It happens and the best thing you can do is ignore the feeling and move on to the next task or sale. I see so many business owners who are romantic about being an Entrepreneur but are not making any money because they are stuck in their fear of being rejected. Focus on the wins and disregard the losses. Think with your head and your feelings will follow.
We also discuss whether or not you need to change your vehicle insurance policy when you add you business name or logo to your vehicle. This can be in any form such as decals, magnets or stickers. Find out what Nancy says at 1:24
Here is some more details about Nancy from her website:
Nancy is passionate about helping others and building relationships. It started as a young child when she was enthralled with the older gentleman (the insurance agent) who came to visit her parents each year on the farm where she grew up. It was always a big deal to sit at the kitchen table and review their policies to make sure the family was properly insured…and that feeling led Nancy to her work in helping other families experience that same sense of security.
Nancy stays connected with her clients. Whether it’s at your kitchen table or in her office, she’ll take time to assess your needs, review policies, and create a customized plan to ensure you are protected properly. A former underwriter (so she understands the intricacies of your policy), Nancy can tell you if you’re adequately covered, paying too much, or if adjustments need to be made. There’s never any pressure or obligation…and she’ll do it face to face.
As an insurance agent with a Mutual Insurance company, Nancy provides coverage for all your general insurance needs including home, automobile, commercial, farm as well as mortgage, life, critical illness, and disability insurance. And she knows that when she does her job properly, you have one less stress to worry about during a claim because you are covered. Policies offered:

I was introduced to Katy when she shared her story at Momondays back in August. It was a powerful story and I encourage you all to read it for yourself on her website. I’ve followed her personal brand through social media since then and joined one of her insightful online webinars. She is a wealth of knowledge and shares quite a bit in our conversation. I agree wholeheartedly that you need an assistant to help your business grow. Here is what Katy says on her website:
As an entrepreneur myself, I understand how we business owners tend to believe that we’re the only ones who can run our businesses the “right” way. But if we don’t ask for help, we run the risk of losing clients! There simply isn’t enough time in the day to answer phone calls, reply to emails, update Facebook, respond to blog comments, promote the business, attend networking events and still have time left to actually make money. If we don’t, we’ll only end up frustrated and burnt out, like I did. We owe it to ourselves to do only what we do best, and leave the rest to the experts. My own experiences have taught me there’s no shame in that.
So now, I save entrepreneurs time by leveraging my talented support team to maximize their online presence and manage their business operations, empowering them to focus on revenue-generating activities like delivering their services and attracting new clients –without getting burnt out.

Here is some more details about the business:

Thomas has a lot on the go and I met him as the Executive Chef at Wich is Wich. His true passion is in home catering and he would like the the opportunity to cook and clean for you and your loved ones. What I wouldn’t give, as a woman, to have the experience of coming home to a hot cooked meal. Learn more about Thomas from his own words:
The In Home Chef started in 2010 as on outlet for me to express my take on food and dining experience. I wanted a way to show people that they have options , they don’t need to repeatedly eat the same boring food and go to the same boring restaurant. I wanted to open their palate to a whole new world and give them the opportunity to experience fine dining in a personal and comfortable environment. I know there was nowhere that people feel more at home then in their home and wanted to bring the restaurant experience directly to each person by offering a unique experience- personal in home catering.
Our take on food comes with a different approach than others. We use classical preparations on food with a modern twist. Ranging from de-constructed apple pie to vanilla braised halibut, we offer a wide range of custom menus that we can tailor to your liking and your event.
